I was born in Valencia but raised in England. My Grandmother owned an orange farm in the outskirts of Valencia where I first tried authentic Paella Valenciana, made with rabbit, chicken, and vegetables, cooked over an open fire (fueled by wood from old orange trees).
Growing up in Buckinghamshire, it was impossible to find Paella in any restaurant (or even any decent tapas for that matter). My Mum would make us Paella on special occasions but I always hankered after those Paellas cooked in the homeland. Fast forward to 2018, and with my 50th birthday looming, I made the decision to leave the corporate world and do something completely different.
The early days saw me working with Xavi Meroño from ‘Paella Shack’, bringing Paella to an appreciative audience at the Beaconsfield Market every Tuesday. I wanted to grow a Paella business locally which led to the launch of Valencia Supper at the start of 2020. In addition to our regular slot at the Beaconsfield Market, we added a successful Saturday pop-up at Emmetts Farm, Little Marlow.
Based out of my home in Wooburn Green, I continued to grow the business catering for all kinds of events from weddings to anniversaries, birthday parties to school leaver parties, corporate events and street food gigs. We also collaborated with a number of local pubs and restaurants as a ‘pop-up’.
We slowly introduced our unique ‘Paella-in-a-Pan’ delivery/collection service. Demand soon outstripped our ability to supply being based at a residential address, and so it was time to find a dedicated Paella HQ. At the start of December 2024, the dream was realised and we moved into our new home in Boston Drive, Bourne End.
Come join us at Valencia Supper Club to savour the authentic taste of Paella, whether at one of our events, or in the comfort of your own home/office using our delivery service.
